Yin-Yang House - Massing Development

This is a new 5-bedroom dwelling we are creating.

The outline planning scheme is rudimental.

We therefore need to demonstrate how the proposal has been developed, as part of a reserved matters application.

The massing images show the key moves we made.

We started with a simple mass object which has been strategically manipulated in response to the constraints and opportunities of this specific site.

The outcome is a split and shifted mass. This enables us to maximise the footprint of the proposed dwelling.

The simple massing and foot-printing process has naturally evolved into a project concept; the relationship and dynamic between two adjacent masses.

Positive and negative. Light and dark. Masculine and feminine. An entwined relationship that creates intrigue as you move through the spaces. Two halves inseparably linked for the creation of a harmonious dwelling.

The creation of Yin-Yang House.
